Hello!

I have always wanted to get false eye lashes but never had the courage to do it. I have read so many stories about them going wrong and would hate to experience this myself. I would love to hear your thoughts on this and if you have really loved them once you got them. Are they worth it and should i bite the bullet and give it ago?

  • I have never been inclined to get false eyelashes but my daughter is a junior hairdresser and is into the latest trends. She had a couple of good experiences and one bad experience. Two different technicians. The bad experience involved her natural eyelashes falling out with the fake eyelashes. Let’s just say, she won’t be going back to that lady again.

  • I spoke to my daughter about this the other day. She has beautiful long luscious lashes like her dad. She says her friends get them done and it all depends on the amount of lashes and the placement so I guess there is the possibility you could start out with a low amount of not too long ones and build from there

  • I’ve had them a few times and love them. It does take a long time for them to apply though. I have gotten them done cheaper with a trainee and it takes at least a couple hours. I got them done in Bali once, but the glue wasn’t very strong there and while I went for thicker ones, they fell off fairly quick. But every time I have gotten them done in Australia they have lasted 3-4 weeks.

  • I think they can look nice if they are subtle and worn for special evenings.

  • If you are talking about lash extensions, I think they look great when done well. If you are talking about false eyelashes, they can also look great when done subtly but leave the big ones for the drag queens… they rock them! I can’t stand it when I see women wearing these massive lashes, it’s not a good look.

  • I think they look ridiculous! Honestly looks like some women have spider legs hanging off them. I’m all about subtle beauty

  • It’s a definite no from me, even on the younger ones. Most just look ridiculous. I’d rather see these gorgeous young girls looking natural.

  • Im terrified! Tried false lashes once and ended up with an eye infection so never sought to try them again. If it’s something you really want, try some temp ones first and see how you feel wearing them for a day. You wont know until you try!

  • Great question! To be completely honest I think most people’s look awful but I’m very big on the natural look. When they look fake I just don’t see the point. I have stubby little lashes and so I’ve considered the same before. I actually got some diy eyelash dye and diy eye lash perm.
It made them darker and more curled but it was just so much effort and difficult to do alone. I’m quite happy using mascara and eyelash curler but you do you! It’s not permanent so if you don’t like it I’m sure you can remove them somehow. Good luck with it 🙂

  • For me its a no. I have tried them and they just felt uncomfortable on my eye lids. I was very aware of them and felt so much better once I removed them.

  • I love the look on other women but it’s fairly common for it to result in your lashes falling out. I’ve had a very light set done and it looked cute and it was nice not having to use mascara for a while, but I wouldn’t do it again unless I had an event.

  • I have tried false eye lashes as part of a trial and although they can be a little tricky to get them on, once they are on you forget you are wearing them. The more you practice the easier it becomes to get them on and off. I personally don’t like the over the top heavy lashes, but there are so many light, natural looking falsies available now at reasonable prices.
