Hello!

I use to use a toner when doing my morning routine but since having a child it has stopped. I have read a few articles in toner and I wondered whether it is really necessary to use toner. What benefits do you find from using it?

  • I use it as a night routine after cleansing! I know it can be tiring but persistence is key. Eventually it becomes the normal routine and you’ll feel weird without it! I like to think of it as cleaning my base before applying the good (and expensive) stuff! So that the skin is prepped and ready to absorb all the great stuff

  • I love using a toner but not daily. I find it can be drying and unnecessary every day. I have a few different kinds, one that is for blemishes, evening skin tone, brightness. I think they work for me

  • I never used to use toner but I have recently started using Alpha H liquid gold which is an exfoliating toner, I only use it a couple of times a week and you don’t need to apply anything before or after using it. It has improved my skin tone and texture.

  • I’ve never bothered and never will. In my opinion, if you use a good cleanser, your face should be fresh and clean for the next step which is a serum, so why bother ‘toning’? I just feel it’s unnecessary for my skin but I know others that love using it.

  • My main reason for using it is to hydrate.
Milky toners are my favourite because my skin soaks them right up and I find they are the most hydrating.

  • I’m no beauty genius but I don’t use it either. I just don’t have time.
I used to use it at the end of the day to remove any makeup that my cleanser left behind but now I’ll settle for just cleanser. I think if you look and feel happy in your skin then that’s good enough

  • I have always used one but I make sure that its a gentle one and not one thats stripping my skin.
I believe the idea is that it removes any remaining traces of cleanser and prepares your skin for your serums and moisturiser, etc. Its simply a part of my daily routine that I have done for years. My Mum passed away aged 77 without a single wrinkle and she always spoke to me about looking after my skin so im following in her footsteps.
