Hello!

Has anyone here ever had a mole or similar removed? How do they do it and was it expensive? Did it leave a scar? I’d love to know who you go to for this kind of thing.
Thanks 🙂

  • I had a few dark moles on my back removed by my GP. 2 of them grew back and I also have a large protruding mole on my neck under the left side of my chin that I had been advised to leave alone if I was only removing it for cosmetic reasons. I think it may be due to the size and the scar it would probably leave including the position it is in.

  • I had one removed from beside my nose and one that was under my chin.
The one beside my nose the GP sliced off with like a razor blade and then he burnt the skin to stop the bleeding. I had a black mark there for a week or so and no scar once healed.
The one under my chin the GP wanted to send me to a plastic surgeon as it had to be cut out and it would leave a scar. I said i wasnt that vain and I wanted him to do it. He did and there is a fine white scar but no one notices as its under my chin and its super pale anyway.
My daughter and 4 removed from her face by a Plastic Surgeon and it cost her around $1800.
Mine were just the normal GP charge

  • My siblings have had some removed on their backs and it did leave a noticeable scar. If you’re doing it for skin safety reasons, it’s definitely worth having a small scar than what the alternative could be.
