I think perfume has always been pretty dear. I don’t really buy it for myself, but ask people to get it for me sometimes as gifts as I can be hard to buy for. I wouldn’t spend more than around $20 personally.
I agree. For a good perfume that lasts all day, you need to spend $100+. I’ve tried cheaper ones, and cheaper for me is around $50 and they don’t last longer than a few hours. My husband recently splurged on my daughter and I. He bought us both Chloe. (Our daughter’s name is Chloe). And OMG! You can smell it a mile away and the scent lasts all day. Love it!
I think perfume has always been a luxury item. Its always been something I would ask as a gift in my teens or save up for. These days I’ve been finding outrageous sales for perfume I love that has helped me save a fortune while indulging in my favourites (Mugler and Ralph Lauren Romance for $30, yes please!)
I think quality perfume has always been expensive.
You can get cheaper perfumes but they wont last on your skin so they really are not worth the spend.
I guess the max I have ever spent was around the $200 mark but that was for a 100ml bottle.
