Hello!

I’m after something special for my daughter, but don’t want something too strong, too ol,d or that smells like sugar-coated caramel! Ideas welcome!

  • Oh i definitely hear you there!! Some of the things girls spray these days are definitely headache inducing. I cant stand that overly sweet candy smelling fragrances. I would definitely ask her what she likes in a scent – but something light, floral and easy to wear everyday would definitely be my preference!

  • You can’t go wrong with perfume. Maybe ask her what scents she prefers….sweet, floral, musk, woody…there are so many perfumes out there. And it depends how much you want to spend. My daughter is 16 and loves the sweet smelling perfumes such as Katy Perry, Arianna Grande and Paris Hilton. And the bottles are stunning too!

  • Have you thought of body spray? My daughter just loves Impulse. Otherwise, if you wanted something special Marc Jacobs Daisy is a nice floral scent.

  • I have two teen girls and we recently went to Myer to buy my son a perfume. While we were shopping the lady helping us gave my daughters samples of Miss Dior and prada paradox.

  • I really think they have to sample some themselves as we all have different tastes. Her circle of friends would have the best up to date suggestions to try for the age group.

  • Marc Jacobs have really lovely scents. So Sweet is just that, sweet. It’s feminine and lovely.

  • I have also bought Marc Jacobs Daisy perfumes for my nieces when they were younger but they are quite expensive. Guess it depends on your daughters age too. A friend bought her daughter Ariana Grande perfumes, the bottles are cute too. Body sprays from the body shop are nice too .

  • Well when I was a teenager (around 13-15) my aunt bought me my very first bottle of perfume. It was Tommy girl by Tommy Hilfiger.
To me it had such a gorgeous scent but isn’t sickly sweet, too grown up or like you’ve bathed in candy.
It used to be at Myer but thankfully it is still being made and sold at chemist warehouse so it’s even cheaper! I bought it for both my girls and we gift the small bottle for birthdays to thier friends

  • I have no clue when it comes to perfume. When I buy it, usually for my daughter, I pick a pretty bottle. I’ve been lucky so far

  • I agree with the poster that mentione the marc Jacobs Daisy. This is a lovely range with different varients to select from. My youngest daughter fell in love with this range and it smelt divine on her.

  • My teenage daughter loves the Sol de Janerio perfumes from Mecca, they smell lovely and the fragrance is long lasting.

  • My daughter wears Daisy by Marc Jacobs. It is such a pretty perfume and lasts a long time.

  • I don’t have a teen girl but I think Clinique Happy is a nice, fresh fragrance and can be worn by all ages.

  • I think it depends of what they are into! My niece is 16 and loves the Marc Jacobs ones, anything Mecca too is a win but probably a little too pricey!

  • Teen girls these days seem to love Sol De Janeiro so anything from their perfume range is great!

  • I am a dior fan and find it not to be too strong and it lasts all day. There are so many varieties out there, i think you need to go and smell a few and see if you can obtain some samples to test at home.
