Hello!

Are under eye masks really worth it? Do they really help? I have tried a couple of different ones but I really can’t see any noticeable difference so I wonder how good these really are. Does anyone use a product they have found a noticeable change after using it?

  • Zoe Foster-Blake, the fab face behind my favourite daily skincare, says that specific eye creams don’t do anything that a good face cream doesn’t. If you want more dramatic results to use a cream with retinol. It was a revelation when I heard it and stopped me from buying eye creams that are double the price of face cream

  • I’ve only tried a few and didn’t have much luck with the results. Creams seem better.

  • I use them from time to time and cant say that I notice a change but for me its just a part of my relaxation routine.
I do use an eye cream every night though and love the Olay Retinol one in the red tube.

  • They can certainly help but it also depends on consistent use of them. And what type of eye masks you are using, whether it’s for hydration, depuffing etc. i find the hydrating ones amazing when my skin needs that extra bit of boost.

  • I totally agree! I have big puffy circles under my eyes just like my dad and I haven’t really found any particular product works better than the others.
The best thing I’ve found is chill any product you use in the fridge first (masks too) and give a gentle massage during application to help drain excess fluid under the skin.

  • It has been a long time since I last used an under eye mask. They feel great but I prefer to use eye cream on a regular basis rather than masks.

  • I like to use reusable ones that chill in the fridge. Make a little spa evening for myself and have them on with my favourite Kiehl’s face mask. I don’t have puffy eyes generally so it’s hard see immediate results, but it makes the skin under my eyes feel refreshed.

  • I have to agree with you. I’ve tried several brands and whilst they feel nice and cooling, they don’t seem to make much difference. I like to use a crystal roller under my eyes when puffy and Beauté Pacifique Puffy Eyes Gel. I still occasionally buy them, good excuse to lay down for 10 minutes anyway 🙂
