Why Rhode’s worth the buzz

Rhode isn’t just another celeb skincare line. With its clean, minimalist aesthetic and cult-status formulas, it has been a big player in the “glazed doughnut skin” obsession that has taken Instagram and TikTok by storm.

From everyday essentials to hybrid makeup-skincare hits, here are some of the biggest Rhode products beauty obsessives can’t stop talking about:

Perfect prep

  • Glazing Milk (from $35) – lightweight yet hydrating, this ceramide essence is a go-to for that luminous start to any routine
  • Glazing Mist ($52)– a hydrating face spray that keeps skin fresh and dewy all day long.

More than a launch – it’s a moment

With the products finally on our doorstep, the Rhode drop closes the pesky gap between hype and access. Being able to see, test and experience the range in MECCA stores makes it even sweeter, giving fans the hands-on moment they’ve been waiting for. And the timing couldn’t be better, with glazed beauty now widely considered less of a trend and more of the default.

So whether you’re here for the glow or the cult status, this is one launch you’ll want on your radar.

  • I remember seeing the tweens so excited for this launch (my daughter included) so glad all their waiting paid off. The amount of money I’ve spent on glazing milks and lip balms has been ridiculous already but she seems to be getting good use out of it and I’m a fan of some of the darker shades

  • Keen to know if anyone’s picked up any products from rhode and can report back? Ive heard some absolutely love where as some thought the formulas were sticky or didnt do much. The packaging for me personally is jsut average. Nothing overly exciting to look at. A little bit plain! But maybe that was their vision

  • I remember seeing the hype on TV whilst watching the news one evening. It was the MECCA George St store and there was a huge line-up. Now after reading this article, I’m more aware of what it was all about. Seems a bit pricey. The Pineapple Refresh Cleanser sounds lovely!

  • I must say I am not really super keen on celebrity brands. I find that a lot of the time they are overrated and the quality is not always what you would expect. Just because you put a famous name behind something doesn’t make it good. The prices are also more expensive too.

  • Oh boy, wasn’t that a tragic launch! The amount of people who ordered directly from Rhode because Mecca’s entire website completely failed. Confirmed payments getting emails shortly after that the order failed. This was probably the biggest launch Mecca has had, you’d think they would have put more effort into making it a success knowing the traffic would be huge. Hopefully they fix it shortly. I’ll wait a little until the initial excitement is down, or maybe just order direct

  • I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about this brand since it first launched and saw so many Aussie girlies begging for it to hit our shores. I’m awaiting to see what they think of it. I’ve been very curious about the lip tint and think I’ll give that a try first

  • Interesting but really its just using the name of a celeb to sell product. This doesnt mean that the product is good but nor does it mean its bad. I always think its a little funny as the Celeb advertises the product and of course their skin is amazing but the products are new so its not like they have been using them for the past 5 years and thats given them their amazing skin.
That being said i would be happy to give them a try.

  • Ohhhhh soo keen to try some of these testers out! I thought i was going to absolutely love Selena’s rare beauty after everyone hyped it up but found the scents just too overbearing for me for the daily wear. I’d be keen to check out this one now after hearing a lot

  • Off to Mecca I go!! Loving the sound of this range. Will definitely try the Lip favourites. My lips could do with some extra love and care.

  • I have been keeping my eye on Rhode for a while now, I didnt realise it was now being sold in Mecca! What a game changer, when i last looked it was only being sold in the US and it was meaning that i needed to have a US po box and foward to access the products! The reviews i have seen are super promising for the lip products, i am most keen to try these

  • I wonder if there are products suitable or specifically made for those woman over 40 or if it is all aimed at the younger demographic? Would be nice to see a celebrity who is younger and has a brand actually make products for woman over 30.

  • I have actually never even heard of this. I must be out of the loop. At the end of the day, I do not really rate celebrity brands. The quality is no better than other well known brands, sometimes not even as good. I would have to try the product and be really impressed to care.
